Brazil-based carrier goes live with XVELA and kicks off collaboration with Tecon Salvador container terminal to improve transparency, communication and efficiency of vessel calls
Log-In Logistica, a leading provider of door to door intermodal logistic services in Brazil and the Mercosur region, has gone live with XVELA’s Collaborative Stowage Planning application. Stowage for Log-In’s fleet of container vessels is now planned using XVELA’s cloud solution and the carrier has begun collaborating on vessel call planning with Tecon Salvador, a container terminal operated by the Wilson Sons Group in Salvador, Brazil.

In addition to stowage planning, Log-In Logistica is using XVELA to collaborate with its called terminals to improve communication and transparency around vessel calls and further increase operational efficiency. The carrier has collaboratively planned multiple calls at Tecon Salvador using the XVELA business network to share critical stowage information including a common load list and shared visibility of stow plans, ensuring accuracy and consistency of data.
Log-In Logistica and Tecon Salvador both benefit from XVELA’s connectivity to the Navis MACS3 loading computer. “Terminals sometimes lose up to an hour waiting for the vessel’s chief mate to check stability and lashing calculations and request adjustments to the plan,” said Luciano Leite, Operations Manager at Tecon Salvador. “Now, with XVELA’s integration with MACS3, we can see the same stability and lashing results as the vessel’s onboard computer while creating our plan. So there is a much higher likelihood that the plan will be quickly approved by the chief mate, so we can start operations right away and get the ship out on time.”
Planners at Log-In Logistica and Tecon Salvador are also taking advantage of XVELA’s integrated, recordable chat feature, which links each conversation to the particular vessel call for a shared, cohesive record of all communication around that call, including which party instigated any changes to the plan, when the changes were requested, and why. This information is useful in post-call analysis to facilitate objective, data-driven discussions and continuous improvements.
